An early morning ride on a motorcycle ends in a high-speed pursuit.
On Saturday, March 22nd, at approximately 4:30 a.m., a Marshall County Sheriff's Deputy advised of a motorcycle traveling excessively fast on U.S. 30 near Pioneer Drive.
Officer Mark with the Plymouth Police Department spotted the motorcycle traveling northbound on Michigan Street at a high rate of speed and initiated a traffic stop. The motorcycle did not stop and fled at a high speed; however, with the combined efforts of the Plymouth Police Department, the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, and the Bremen Police Department, the pursuit was safely concluded at U.S. 6 and State Road 331.
The driver was identified as Moises Lopez-Solis, 29, of the 17,000 block of Lincoln Highway in Plymouth. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in at 5:20 a.m. for reckless driving, resisting law enforcement, and possession of a legend drug. The $1,500 cash bond for Lopez-Solis was paid about 1:30 Saturday afternoon, and he was released on bond with a court date.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings, entitled to be represented by counsel, and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
