Friday morning, Plymouth Mayor Robert Listenberger presented Leo Sickmiller with a Certificate of Recognition at PHS.
Sickmiller, a senior at Plymouth High School, exemplified the highest ideals of sportsmanship during a recent cross-country meet. While competing against other schools, Leo noticed a fellow runner from an opposing team struggling and, without hesitation, offered his assistance. This selfless act, characteristic of Sickmiller's genuine character, showcased the true meaning of sportsmanship, going beyond competition and highlighting the importance of camaraderie and support.
A dedicated student in the CTE Firefighter program and a seasonal employee for the City of Plymouth, Sickmiller's actions reflect the values instilled in him both in and out of the classroom.
Mayor Robert Listenberger and the City of Plymouth are immensely proud of Leo Sickmiller and his commendable display of character. They recognize him as a shining example for all young people in the community. His actions serve as a powerful reminder that sports are not just about winning but also about building character, fostering respect, and extending a helping hand to others.
