State Representatives Jack Jordan (R-Bremen) and Jake Teshka (R-North Liberty) say applications to intern with Indiana House Republicans for the 2025 legislative session are now open.
Jordan said the Indiana House of Representatives offers a spring semester internship at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, starting in January and concluding in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and work full-time, Monday through Friday.
"Interning at the Statehouse immerses you in the state legislature and allows you to see how laws affect Hoosiers," Jordan said. "This program is a tremendous opportunity to build valuable skills and professional network, which can help launch your future career."
Teshka said internships are open to college students and recent graduates of all majors. Interns get free parking, career and professional development assistance, enrollment access to an Indiana government class, and opportunities to earn academic credits through their college or university.
"Getting a unique, hands-on experience like this can help students launch their careers in either the private or the public sector,” Teshka said. "Interning at the Statehouse allows students to practice what they've learned in school and build their talents for the next big opportunity.”
Interns are also eligible to apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship to use toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.
The program offers opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy, and communications.
Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
