The Marshall County Democratic Party filed a Freedom of Information request Thursday to obtain records from the Marshall County Council. The Party initiated the request in response to the recent vote by the County Council in the approval on October 10 to file an injunction against County Commissioner Kevin Overmyer. The request is for the following information -
1. Referral letter from the Marshall County Council and Attorney Lebbin to Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita, who subsequently referred Attorney Laureen White to the Council.
2. Information as to what capacity Attorney White is being used, any billable hours that Attorney White is charging the County, and how many hours she has billed.
3. Copies of the 160-page document that Attorney White has prepared.
4. Any correspondence between Attorney White and members of the Marshall County Council.
Marshall County Democratic Chair Shiloh Milner stated, “Marshall County taxpayers deserve transparency in this matter.”
