Major Health Partners (MHP) has been named a 2026 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital by The Chartis Center for Rural Health.
MHP is one of only three hospitals in Indiana to receive this national honor.
The Top 100 award recognizes rural hospitals across the country for strong performance and high-quality care. Hospitals are selected based on the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®. This program reviews publicly available data to measure how well hospitals perform in areas such as patient care, hospital operations, and financial strength. Now in its 16th year, the INDEX is one of the most trusted tools used to evaluate rural hospitals nationwide.
“Being named a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital is a great honor,” said Ryan Claxton, President and CEO of MHP. “This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team, who work hard every day to provide safe, high-quality care to our patients and our community.”
MHP is a 46-bed rural hospital known for bringing advanced care to Shelby County and the surrounding communities. The MHP Medical Center offers services that are not always available in smaller communities, including oncology, cardiology, orthopedics, nephrology, pulmonology, plastic surgery, and robot-assisted surgery. MHP’s skilled team and advanced technology help ensure patients can receive quality care close to home.
