A vehicle and foot pursuit Friday night ended in Knox, with officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department capturing one of two suspects.
On August 23rd, at approximately 11:20 p.m., a Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima for a moving violation. The Nissan fled the traffic stop, and a pursuit of the vehicle ensued. The Nissan led police on a chase on U.S. 31, 13th Road, and State Road 8 in Marshall County. The chase continued into Starke County and ended in the City of Knox when the suspect vehicle lost control and struck a curb. The impact disabled the vehicle.
Both occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot. A Marshall County K9 deputy utilized his partner to track one of the suspects. The Deputy and his K9 successfully apprehended the driver, Davion J Stackhouse, 25, of Illinois. The other suspect was not located.
Stackhouse was booked into the county jail with preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement as a level 6 felony and a misdemeanor, obstruction of justice, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and possession of marijuana. He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.
Items to aid in identifying the passenger who fled were located in the vehicle.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by Argos Police, Culver Police, Knox Police, and the Starke County Sheriff’s Deputies.
