Enyart's Hardware strengthens its commitment to Rochester

Enyart's Hardware is making big changes by expanding their products and storefront. One thing that will remain the same, however, is their emphasis on helpful customer service.

Enyart's Hardware, located at 1619 Main St. in Rochester, has been serving the community's hardware and home improvement needs for the past 50 years. Wanting to maintain the same hometown service has been personal for store owner Janet Daake, who announced earlier this year that the store would be expanding its storefront and selection of products.

The changes have fallen like dominos since the store switched their supplier nearly two years ago from True Value to Do it Best. Janet says even more positive changes will be coming this fall to the store, as well. One thing that won't be changing, however, is the loyalty for their customers and employees. Maintaining helpful, quality service also keeps the legacy of Enyart's founders, Emerson and Barbara Enyart, alive despite Emerson's passing in 2019 and Barbara's recent passing earlier this year.

The Enyart's loyalty also extended out to their employees as well, who are treated like family. The store currently employs 16 locals, including several teens who use the hardware store as their first steps into the workforce before college. Long-time employee Mike Murphy said working for the Enyart family has opened his eyes to the difference between working for small-town local stores compared to big corporations. Murphy has been employed at the store for the past 16 years and counting.

While a completion date has yet to be set in stone, there's hope that the construction at Enyart's Hardware is wrapped up by the end of this year, weather permitting.
