In November, the Marshall County Sheriff's Department obtained a request for a Welfare Check on an individual in the Culver area.
When officers visited the residence, they spoke with an individual who advised them that a domestic situation had occurred, but the suspect had left the area.
A case report was completed and forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor's Office for review. An arrest warrant was later obtained and served on Jamal William Green, 29, of Monterey, last Saturday, January 25th.
Green is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail for domestic battery in the presence of a child less than 16 years of age. His cash bond was set at $5,000.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury, at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
