Anna Keitzman and Brent Martin will appear at the Marshall County Council meeting on Thursday evening to discuss their request for READI 2.0 public matching funds of $180,000 or, as the commissioner recommends, the remaining American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds to pay the bulk of the roofing project.
The pair appeared before the commissioners about a month ago seeking some of the county’s ARP funds to assist with the required public matching funds needed to be awarded a READI 2.0 grant. The Heartland Art Center’s project is a top-to-bottom renovation of the former Montgomery Ward building in downtown Plymouth. The total cost of all phases of their project is over $8 million.
Keitzman and Martin will appear before the County Council to answer any questions they may have on the project or their request.
Other council agenda items include Commissioner Stan Klotz discussing building repairs with the county’s building & grounds department along with American Rescue Plan funds.
Council members will consider additional appropriation requests, transfers, and invoices from Lebbin Law and Cender Dalton. The Sheriff’s 2025 contract is on the agenda along with juvenile detention funding, a resolution to transfer from the Employee Benefits Rainy Day Fund, and a discussion of Rainy-Day Fund transfers for year-end.
The final items on their agenda is the County Council complaint for Declaratory Judgement against the County Commissioners and the Solar Project.
The County Council meeting is open to the public and streamed live on the county’s website at www.co.marshall.in.us.
