The Plymouth Police Department saw an increase in criminal reports and criminal arrests last year and a slight decrease in criminal reports referred to the prosecutor’s office.
In the department’s annual report, the number of criminal reports increased from 1,890 in 2023 to 1,991 in 2024. Criminal arrests rose from 300 in 2023 to 442 in 2024, while the number of criminal reports referred to the prosecutor’s office decreased from 449 in 2023 to 445 in 2024.
The Plymouth Police Department saw a notable rise in service calls, escalating from 12,398 in 2023 to 14,226 in 2024. Likewise, traffic stops grew from 2,197 in 2023 to 3,699 in 2024.
The annual report indicates 396 property damage accidents and 59 personal injury accidents. Additionally, there were 190 criminal case reports for theft, 48 for battery, 69 for criminal mischief, 8 for identity theft, and 23 for sex offenses.
Calls for service in 2024 included 293 alarms, 149 medical alarms,240 animal complaints, 366 juvenile complaints, 114 unwanted guests, and 132 warrant services.
Plymouth Police Officers issued 446 infraction tickets, 72 misdemeanor tickets, and 53 ordinance tickets. In addition, there were 549 warning tickets and 212 parking tickets in 2024.
