Chase Edward Bennett, 17, of Hillsdale, passed away unexpectedly as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident at Union Hospital, Clinton. He was a junior at Riverton Parke High School and was participating in the vocational program through Parke Heritage High School, studying automotive technology.
He was born December 5, 2008, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Floyd Edward Bennett,III and Tracy Dawn Davis Bennett.
Survivors include his parents, Eddie and Tracy Bennett; one sister, Caeden Bennett; his girlfriend, Bryn McGrannahan, the love of his life; his paternal grandmother, Helen Bennett; maternal grandfather, George (Sharon Fields) Davis; great-grandmother, Helen Davis; one uncle, Tim (Holly) Davis; two aunts, Kacee (Robbie) Salmon and Lacee (Bryan Kelsheimer) Devins; several cousins, Tyler Davis, Kaylee Irelan, Connor Davis, Tori Linnenkamp, Kara Salmon, and Blake Salmon; and many friends whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Floyd E. “Eddie” Bennett, and his maternal grandmother, Glenda I. Davis.
Chase attended Bloomingdale Christian Church. Chase was a true lover of sports—whether he was playing football, baseball, golf, cheering from the sidelines, or talking about the game long after it ended. His competitive spirit was matched only by his big heart. He loved deeply, cared fiercely for his family, friends, and girlfriend, Bryn, and never missed a chance to make someone feel included.
His smile could light up a room. It was warm, genuine, and impossible to forget. He had a way of lifting people’s spirits simply by being himself—full of energy, laughter, and love.
More than anything, he will be remembered for how he made others feel: valued, supported, and loved. His memory will live on in every game played with passion, every cheer from the stands, and every moment shared with an open heart. He is deeply loved and will be forever missed.
