The ban took effect at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The Howard County Fire Chief’s Association has issued a county wide burn ban.
The ban took effect at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and will remain in effect until the fire chiefs have decided that the risk of damaging fires has decreased.
This decision was based on multiple factors, including the current dry conditions, the absence of rain in the near future, and the heavy fire load of unharvested crops.
The burn ban means no outside burning of any kind is allowed.
