The Illinois State Police have arrested a Lawrence County man after a fatal shooting Thursday in Bridgeport.
28-year-old Elijah Hooker of Bridgeport has been preliminarily charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm in connection with the death of 37-year-old Omni Hooker at a Washington Street location. Additional charges could be pending after an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death of the victim and completion of the full investigation.
Elijah Hooker was taken to the Lawrence County Jail and was being held there on the initial charges.
