The suspect has been taken into custody and an identity has been announced.
Although the victim claimed not to know who the suspect was, detectives have identified and arrested 28-year-old Anthony McGill of West Terre Haute. Police were unsuccessful in finding McGill at 3rd Ave. and N 15th Street, which is where one tip said he would be, but he was located at a different home.
Original: The Terre Haute Police Department had a 3rd Avenue closed at the North 15th Street intersection yesterday afternoon. Despite rumors, it was confirmed by THPD that this was not due to a hostage or barricaded person situation. There was an investigation into an aggravated battery case, which happened over the weekend.
THPD were at a home where it was believed the suspect was staying. Officers were unable to locate the suspect at the home. The suspect has yet to be located. If any more information is released it will be updated here.
