
The Indiana State Police (ISP) and FBI this week arrested an Evansville man for the murder of a Gibson County man over 30 years ago.
The unsolved death of 63-year-old Norman Ellerbrook was revisited recently by authorities. He was found dead at his residence near the town of Warrenton in early September of 1993. The body was discovered at the bottom of the stairs leading to the basement. An autopsy revealed the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. He also had multiple stab wounds, but they were not in any vital areas. Investigation was never able to never able to link his death to the person responsible until now.
Detectives used the latest forensic and DNA evidence techniques to tie 61-year-old Timothy Farber to the death. The Gibson County Prosecutor's Office filed for an arrest warrant for Farber, and he was arrested without incident while walking in Evansville on Tuesday, July 22nd. He was brought to Gibson County and was booked into the Gibson County Jail at Princeton. Farber was being held there without bond.
