Warsaw man facing felony charges after child allegedly ingested THC brownie

A Mentone man is facing felony charges after a recent incident where a child allegedly ate a brownie containing THC. 

According to court documents, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office was contacted about a report of a child ingesting a brownie that contained marijuana on May 2. On May 7, Jonathan Bonilla Acosta, 33, of Mentone, was interviewed by police and admitting to receiving a THC brownie from his friend the week prior, noticed it was missing and believed the child ate it. 

The child had been taken to a local medical center for treatment. A toxicology report for the child showed a positive result for cannabinoid.

Bonilla Acosta was charged with neglect of a dependent, a Level 6 Felony. He has since been released on bond.
