An employee was injured in a fire in Akron Monday.
Henry Township and Rochester fire departments initially responded to Dragon ESP just after 9 a.m. Black smoke was coming from the open garage doors of the 80 x 400’ building. The initial report from employees stated that a possible explosion and a fire was in the paint booth in the structure.
Henry Engine 2 stretched an attack line into the structure for fire attack and was supported soon after by Rochester Engine 1. Initial crews were able to extinguish the fire and began checking for further extension into the structure. Upon the arrival of North Manchester Ladder 603, a crew was sent to the roof of the structure to search for extension in the air filtering system for the paint booths.
