The Marshall County Recycle Depot is calling on local businesses, schools, and individuals to roll up their sleeves and help beautify the community through its newly launched "Community Clean-Up Challenge."
To kick off the initiative, the Recycle Depot has created an interactive Google Map highlighting specific areas around Marshall County that are in need of attention. Organizers are challenging residents to pick a spot on the map, grab some gloves and a trash bag, and make a tangible difference in their neighborhoods.
For those who want to participate but lack the necessary gear, the Recycle Depot is happy to provide supplies, including gloves and trash bags, free of charge.
Joining the challenge is designed to be simple and interactive. Participants are asked to follow these steps:
- Check the provided map and select a location to clean.
- Head out and clean up the chosen area.
- Take before-and-after photos of the space.
- Post the photos on social media and tag the Recycle Depot.
- Tag two friends or colleagues to challenge them to clean up a spot of their own.
To further encourage participation, the Recycle Depot is offering several bonuses. All trash and tires collected during the challenge can be dropped off at the Depot completely free of charge. Additionally, for groups tackling larger projects, the Recycle Depot Community Clean-Up Trailer is available to reserve.
"Every small action helps protect our environment, wildlife, and waterways," organizers shared in the event announcement. "Let’s see how many places in Marshall County we can clean up together."
The Recycle Depot is located at 1900 Walter Glaub Drive in Plymouth. Residents can visit the facility or check its social media pages to access the clean-up map and learn more about the challenge.
