Plymouth Police report multiple arrests over busy weekend

The Plymouth Police Department had a busy weekend, making three separate arrests between Friday morning and early Sunday morning involving traffic violations and alcohol-related offenses.

The weekend's incidents began on Friday, May 1st, at approximately 8:30 a.m. Officer Krynock conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Walnut and Jefferson Streets for a traffic infraction. The driver, identified as 38-year-old Melinda Barber of Plymouth, was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended-prior driver's license. Barber was taken into custody.

The following day, at about 1:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 2nd, Officer Krynock made another traffic stop for an infraction, this time at U.S. 30 and Oak Drive. The driver, 32-year-old Jose Daniel Melendez-Mayorga of Plymouth, was also found to have a suspended-prior driver's license status and was subsequently arrested.

Early Sunday morning, May 3rd, at approximately 4:10 a.m., the focus shifted to a local business. Officer Allen observed a vehicle parked in the Kroger parking lot that was left running with the driver's side door open and no occupants inside.

While investigating the abandoned vehicle, officers were approached by 18-year-old Natalia Calix Chirinos of Bremen. Police reported that Chirinos exhibited signs of impairment, emitted the odor of an alcoholic beverage, and was inconsistent when providing personal details to the officers. She was arrested on charges of illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and public intoxication.

All three individuals were transported and lodged in the Marshall County Jail following their respective incidents.
