Five juveniles were arrested in connection with widespread vandalism in Russiaville.
A number of vandalism incidents were reported on the morning of May 18 at the Russiaville Youth Baseball Complex and surrounding properties.
Deputies arrived to find extensive graffiti sprayed on dugouts, signage and other structures at the complex. It included vulgar and explicit language. Additional vandalism was found throughout the Russiaville area including private property along South 750 West and North Union.
The Howard County Sheriff’s Office and Russiaville Town Marshal’s Office investigators reviewed surveillance footage and followed up leads from community members. Five juveniles, ages 14 – 16, were identified as suspects. All five were charged with criminal mischief – pecuniary loss of $750 but less than $50,000, Class A misdemeanor. They were transported to the Kinsey Youth Center.
