Vincennes University (VU) has announced that Nyla Johnson will be the new head basketball coach for the Lady Trailblazers.
VU Athletic Director John Meeks issued a statement on filling the position Thursday.
Johnson is a native of Huntsville, Alabama and comes to VU after serving as an assistant at NCAA Division I Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.
She played high school basketball in Alabama and collegiately at Faulkner University in Alabama before beginning her coaching career.
She has also spent time as an assistant and head coach in Division III womens basketball.
Johnson becomes only the 6th VU womens coach in history and succeeds the late Harry Meeks.
