The Hoosier Heritage Conference All-Conference Girls Basketball Team includes a pair of Golden Bears.
Senior Hannah Baker and sophomore Jayla Ash were two of 12 players selected based on their performance this past season.
Baker averaged 10.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.5 steals for Shelbyville in its final season as a member of the HHC.
Ash led the Golden Bears in scoring (13 ppg) and rebounding (6 rpg).
Other All-HHC selections were Delta’s Addison Barnes and Jillian Barr, Greenfield-Central’s Izzy Silcox, Mt. Vernon’s Zoey Wood and Kendra Ash, New Castle’s Carlee Lanzer, New Palestine’s Sadey Hughbanks, Pendleton Heights’ Adah Hupfer and Olivia Jones, and Yorktown’s Lilly Sylvester.
Pendleton Heights’ Nick Rogers was selected Coach of the Year.
Pendleton Heights won the HHC title with a perfect 7-0 mark. The Arabians finished the season with a 22-4 record.
Mt. Vernon (13-10) was HHC runner-up at 5-2, finishing ahead of New Palestine (15-9, 4-3), Delta (16-9, 3-4), New Castle (14-9, 3-4), Shelbyville (12-10, 3-4), Greenfield-Central (13-12, 3-4) and Yorktown (9-13, 0-7).
