Jayden Goff scored a career high 31 points and senior teammate Noah Wilson added 19 Wednesday night to propel the #2 ranked Lawrenceville basketball Indians to a 61-38 win over county rival Red Hill in the semi-finals of the Class 1A Regional at Clay County State Bank Arena in Louisville (Ill.)
The Indians jumped out to a 17-5 lead after one quarter and were never headed as they notched their 30th win against only 2 losses. It is the 5th time in Indian basketball history that a team has reached 30 wins in a season. The win was also the 7th straight for the Tribe.
The Salukis bow out of the Class 1A tournament series with a record of 15-17. They were led by Brayden Carie with 11 points and senior Ozzy Ash, the all-time leading scorer in Saluki history ended his career with 10.
The Indians will move on the regional final Friday where they will face the host Louisville (North Clay) Cardinals at 7 p.m. The Cardinals had to rally from behind in the second semi-final to beat Dieterich 54-46.
