Steven E. Howell, 84, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026 at his residence.
Born October 30, 1941 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Howard E. Howell Sr. and Eunice (Horsley) Howell. He married Frankie R. (Bray) Howell on August 13, 1972 and she preceded him on October 3, 2002.
Survivors include 3 sisters- Carolyn Bender of Shelbyville, Diane Davis of Shelbyville, Deborah Edwards of Shelbyville; dear friend Cynthia Buddenbaum of Shelbyville; several nieces and nephews; and his fur babies- Princess the cat, and Lady his dog. He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse, brother Gene Howell and sister Gloria Edwards.
Mr. Howell had lived in this area for 20 years, after moving from Franklin. He had been employed as a welder at Arvin's of Franklin, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a member of Living Water Apostolic Church.
Steve enjoyed traveling, eating, camping, horseback riding, and had a mean quick draw with his gun and holster.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Monday, August 31, 2026 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Josh Kiner Sr.officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
