Betty Sue Baum, age 92 of Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly of St. Francisville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
Betty Sue Baum, age 92 of Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly of St. Francisville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. She was born the daughter of Edgar Ray Morris and his wife Esta M. (Combs) Morris on January 7, 1934, in Robinson, Illinois.
In December of 1957, Betty married the love of her life, Charles “Jack” Baum, Jr. For more than 42 years, they experienced life together, raised their four children, and enjoyed their family until he passed away in July of 2000.
While Betty lived in St. Francisville, she attended the St. Francisville Christian Church and was actively involved at the Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed art and drawing along with spending time with her family.
Betty was a devoted homemaker to her family and had worked at the United Methodist Village as a dietary aide.
Those honored to carry on the memories and legacy of Betty include: four children- Jennie Lou Baum of Indianapolis, Indiana, Charles Ray Baum of Bicknell, Indiana, Susan May Park of Burlington, Vermont, and Neal William Baum and wife Anna of St. Francisville, Illinois; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her extended family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents- Edgar Ray Morris and Esta Morris; her husband- Charles “Jack” Baum, Jr.; one brother- William Arthur Morris; and one sister- Mary Lou Morris.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in Oaklawn Cemetery of St. Francisville, Illinois at 1:00 p.m. (CST) with a visitation and viewing at the cemetery from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Cunningham-Young Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
