As we kick off Memorial Day weekend, I hope you join me in reflecting on the true meaning of Memorial Day, which is to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. We all owe a tremendous debt to those who served and gave their life to ensure our nation and our freedoms are protected.
To honor our fallen, The Plymouth American Legion Post #27 will host Memorial Day services on Monday, May 27. The service will begin at 10 a.m. at the Marshall County Courthouse with the placing of a wreath there and then on the South Michigan Street Bridge with the tossing of a wreath into the Yellow River. The larger community ceremony begins at 11 at Oakhill Cemetery.
Also, don’t forget to participate in the National Moment of Remembrance, a minute of silence at 3 p.m. on Memorial Day, to remember those who died in military service.
