The Knox County (Ind.) Sheriff's Department reports that one man died Monday as the result of a two-vehicle accident between a dump truck and a pickup truck at the U.S.50 intersection with Anson Road east of Vincennes.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the pickup being driven by 88-year-old Martin Drieman of Monroe City was traveling south on the Anson Road and failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by the dump truck whose driver was 46-year-old Scott Demoss of Solsberry. The impact of the collision drove both vehicles off the road and into a nearby ditch.
Drieman was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) in Vincennes and was pronounced dead on arrival. Demoss was also taken to the hospital and evaluated.
Investigation continues in the accident circumstances by the Knox County Sheriff's Department.
