Twin tornadoes were confirmed to have touched down in Starke County, Indiana, from storms on March 10.
The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana recently announced the EF-O tornado was on the ground for less than a mile next to an EF-2 tornado before it eventually lifted near Knox. Officials say the EF-0, the secondary tornado carried winds speeds estimated up to 85 mph and formed on the south/southwest flank of the larger “wedge” tornado that came through the county.
The agency stated satellite and storm chaser data from the storms on March 10 were used to make the confirmation of the brief tornados.
The tornados bring a total of six tornados that have been confirmed to have touched down in Indiana during the storms from March 10-11.
