Metal Technologies completes acquisition of Rochester Metal Products

Metal Technologies, Inc. (MTI) announced that it has completed the acquisition of Rochester Metal Products, an iron foundry with a history dating back to 1937.

The Rochester facility will operate as Metal Technologies Rochester.

The acquisition adds approximately 350 skilled employees to the MTI team and expands the company’s manufacturing capabilities, domestic production capacity and customer base. Rochester brings extensive gray and ductile iron casting expertise, horizontal molding capabilities, engineering resources and longstanding customer relationships to MTI’s North American operations.

With the addition of Rochester, MTI employs more than 2,100 people and operates five foundries and two machining facilities across the United States and Mexico. The combined organization operates 19 molding lines—including 15 Disamatic vertical molding lines and four horizontal molding lines—more than 200 CNC machines, and approximately 410,000 tons of annual gray and ductile iron casting capacity. With the addition of Rochester, MTI further strengthens its position as the largest independent, family-owned iron foundry, machining and assembly group in North America.

Rochester Metal Products operates an approximately 250,000-square-foot facility in Rochester, Indiana, producing gray and ductile iron castings for customers across a broad range of industries. Its horizontal and vertical molding capabilities, induction melting expertise and specialized production knowledge complement MTI’s existing operations.

MTI’s operations now include five iron foundries in Auburn and Rochester, Indiana; Three Rivers and Ravenna, Michigan; and San Luis Potosí, Mexico. The company also operates machining facilities in Hillsdale, Michigan, and San Luis Potosí, Mexico, supported by its Corporate Headquarters and Technical Center in Auburn, Indiana.
