Detectives from the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division at the Peru Post initiated an investigation at the request of the Miami Correctional Facility into the death of inmate Shawn Booker, 50 years of age.
Investigators are being assisted by the Miami County Coroner’s Office and Miami Correctional Facility Investigators. An autopsy will be completed to determine the exact cause of death.
