Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy Blake Bennett conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 31 near 4A Road Thursday afternoon, January 2nd, at 3:30.
The vehicle's driver was identified as 22-year-old Timothy Brown of South Bend. His passenger was 21-year-old Commander Jenkins, also of South Bend.
During the traffic stop, suspected cocaine was located. Brown and Jenkins were transported to the Marshall County Jail, and both were booked in for possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug as a level 6 felony, and each was held on a $1,500 cash bond. Jenkins did bond out at 11:45 p.m.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
