The Indiana Department of Transportation announces construction is set to begin this month on I-74 in Shelby County. The project includes pavement rehabilitation, bridge deck work, and new lighting at the Shelby/Decatur County Line (Exit 123).
Beginning on or after Tuesday, April 21, the right lane of I-74 eastbound and westbound will be closed daily between State Road 44 and County Road 800 W. from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Then, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., the right lane of I-74 eastbound and westbound will be closed between State Road 9 and S.R. 44.
Crews will be strengthening the shoulders to facilitate the next stages of construction. These daily closures are expected to be in place for two weeks, weather permitting.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and use extra caution while traveling in and around work zones. Learn more about the I-74 Rehabilitation Project at bit.ly/I74ShelbyDecatur.
