The long-standing Bridgeport lagoon repair project is moving forward in a positive direction.
Mayor Tyler Griffin made that assessment during a report Tuesday night to the City Council.
The rock filtration system has now been installed after two days of work and was approved by the project engineer. The lagoon has now been refilled and continues to function properly.
The lagoon project has been a problem for the city for a number of years and was the subject of litigation before a solution was agreed up after negotiations. The mayor was pleased that after five years of work and expense, the system is now efficiently working.
