Plymouth Police arrested three men from Fort Wayne on Monday afternoon after an officer saw three vehicles that appeared to be bolted together with steel bars in between traveling east on U.S. 30 at approximately 35 MPH.
On Dec. 9, at approximately 3 p.m., Officer Lovely was patrolling the area of U.S. 30 and Pioneer Drive when he observed the vehicle train. The vehicles did not have working lights or license plates.
Officer Lovely initiated a traffic stop on the vehicles, and two more sets of vehicles were bolted together and connected to the initial driver, who pulled over.

During the investigation, Officer Lovely found that the registrations on the three driving vehicles were fictitious. They had no insurance, and none of the drivers, 31-year-old Cesy Barrios DeLeon, 33-year-old Raul Castillo Arbreso, or 37-year-old Oscar Madrid Acuta, had a valid operator's license.

The three drivers were taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where they were lodged for operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license, a class C misdemeanor. They were all issued cash bonds and court dates and released within an hour. The seven vehicles involved were towed.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury, at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
