The Blue River Community Foundation (BRCF) presents “For the Birds: A Community Celebration of Art and Nature in Shelby County” at the Shelby County Players Wortman Family Civic Theatre on Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will celebrate the completion of Carl Leck’s bird mural and Shelby County’s Bird County designation. Activities include a live bird presentation, local artists and musicians, conservation groups, and hands-on art activities. A one-hour bird walk will take place prior to the event at 8:30 a.m. at the Shelbyville High School Ecology Lab. To reserve a spot on the bird walk, email forthebirdssc@gmail.com. This event is supported by the Beaty Construction Inc./C-Tech Corporation Fund and the Marks-DePrez Community Arts Fund administered by BRCF, and Shelby County Tourism and Visitors Bureau.
