Shelbyville Middle School captured the Hoosier Legends Conference Girls Golf Tournament championship Saturday at Thatcher Golf Course in Indianapolis.
The Golden Bears’ five golfers shot 124 for six holes to defeat four other competing teams.
Greenwood was runner-up at 137. Tri-West finished third with 148. Indian Creek (156) and Speedway (161) rounded out the competing teams.
Monrovia and Beech Grove did not have full teams at the tournament. Triton Central did not have a representative.
Indian Creek’s Liv Posey was crowned conference champion with a score of 24.
Shelbyville had four of the top six finishers.
Julia McCracken (photo) posted a personal best score of 26 to finish second. Becca Duffy also shot a personal best round of 31 to place fourth.
Kate Swonger finished fifth (33) and Stella Sherwood was sixth (34). Stella Mink completed the Shelbyville scorecard with a 39.
