Kindt SoccerPlex celebrates 25 years of soccer, community and legacy

Plymouth Community School Corporation and Plymouth High School recently celebrated a special milestone: 25 years of the Kindt SoccerPlex, a facility made possible through the generosity of the Kindt family.

During Monday evening's girls’ soccer match, Plymouth honored Don Kindt, Barbara Kindt, and Devin Kindt for the family's lasting contribution to Plymouth soccer. The celebration brought together past administrators, PHS soccer alumni, former and current coaches, current student-athletes, families, and community members who gathered to recognize the significance of the milestone.

For a quarter-century, the Kindt SoccerPlex has provided a home for Plymouth High School soccer and a place where generations of athletes have competed, developed as teammates, and made lasting memories.

The facility has also been the backdrop for some of Plymouth soccer's most memorable accomplishments.

A Legacy on the Pitch: Since the Kindt SoccerPlex opened, Plymouth soccer programs have continued to build a strong competitive tradition:

● 3 IHSAA Boys Soccer Sectional Championships — 2007, 2016 and 2020

● 1 IHSAA Boys Soccer Regional Championship — 2007

● 1 IHSAA Girls Soccer Sectional Championship — 2003

● 2020 Boys Soccer: 17-1-1 overall, 7-0 in NLC play, NLC Champions and IHSAA Sectional Champions

● The 2016 boys sectional championship marked Plymouth's first boys’ soccer sectional title since 2007.

Beyond the championships and wins, the SoccerPlex has served as a gathering place for athletes, coaches, families, alumni, and fans — creating memories that extend well beyond the final whistle.

“The Kindt family's generosity helped make this facility possible, and its impact has reached far beyond the soccer field,” said Ryan Welch, PHS Athletic Director. “For 25 years, generations of Plymouth students have had the opportunity to compete, grow, and create memories here. We are incredibly grateful to the Kindt family and to everyone who has contributed to the legacy of Plymouth soccer.”

The 25th anniversary celebration was a reminder that the legacy of the Kindt SoccerPlex is not measured only in championships or statistics, but in the people, relationships, and memories created there over the past 25 years.
