Tim Yocum was chosen Tuesday by Indiana Republican caucus at the Parke County 4-H Fairgrounds to represent District 42 as its state representative.
He believes his knowledge of county government will be an asset.

Yocum's career has been with Duke Energy. For now, he's taking a leave of absence. But at the age of 65 he says retirement from Duke Energy is a possibility.
Speaking of energy, Yocum knows topics like that will come up for District 42.
Yocum says the common sense approach to ambulance service that brought Vermillion and Parke counties together is an example of how issues should be handled at the state level.
The soon to be sworn-in state representative intends to be connected with the people of District 42
District 42 covers, parts of Vigo, Warren, Vermillion, Clay, Parke, and Fountain counties.
