The Culver Redevelopment Commission is inviting residents and business owners to help shape the future of downtown Culver through a new five-year action plan aimed at boosting economic vitality in the town's commercial districts.

The town has partnered with Downtown Strategies, a division of Retail Strategies, to develop a comprehensive revitalization plan that focuses on practical, small-scale strategies designed to deliver immediate impact.

A public input session will be held on Wednesday, April 1, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the Culver-Union Township Public Library, 107 N. Main Street.

The workshop will allow community members to share ideas, goals, concerns, and challenges directly with the Downtown Strategies team, ensuring the final plan reflects Culver's unique local identity and long-term vision.

"Be part of the process," said Jeremy Murdock, community development specialist, who will host the session. "Don't miss this opportunity to connect, discuss, and make a difference."

Community members can register at https://forms.office.com/r/86zrsdXvFq.

The revitalization plan will focus on three specialized areas: Market Positioning to refine Culver's brand and increase appeal to visitors, Business Mix Optimization, where they will identify the best types of businesses to support the local economy, and  Downtown Activation, which will create more reasons for people to spend time in downtown commercial districts

Rather than attempting to tackle every possible improvement at once, the approach emphasizes identifying and implementing practical strategies that can be accomplished within the five-year timeframe.

The stakeholder input session represents a key component of the planning process. By gathering direct feedback from local business owners, residents, and other stakeholders, the Downtown Strategies team can ensure the revitalization plan addresses real community needs and priorities.

The collaborative approach is designed to build community buy-in and ensure the final plan is both realistic and implementable.

The partnership between the Culver Redevelopment Commission and Downtown Strategies aims to breathe new life into Culver's two primary commercial hubs while preserving the town's character and meeting the needs of current and future residents and visitors.

The stakeholder input gathered at the April 1 session will inform the development of the Five-Year Action Plan, which will provide a roadmap for strategic improvements to downtown Culver.

All community members interested in the future of downtown Culver are encouraged to attend the April 1 stakeholder session and share their perspectives.
