Thursday arrests by Plymouth Police

Plymouth Police officers arrested three individuals on May 15^th in three separate incidents.

At 1:15 P.M. on Thursday, Officer Krynock stopped a vehicle in the 1700 block of North Michigan Street for a traffic infraction. 22-year-old Robert Reynery Zuniga Ruiz Colony Court in Plymouth was found to be driving without ever obtaining a driver’s license. He was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for less than three hours on a $100 cash bond.

Just before 7 p.m., Officer Fisher conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle whose plate came back to a registered owner who was suspended with a prior. The vehicle pulled into the BP parking lot at Jefferson and Michigan Streets, and the driver, 31-year-old Michael Yoder of Lincoln Highway, was taken into custody and transported to the county jail. He was lodged for driving while suspended with a prior and given a cash bond and court date.

The final city arrest on Thursday was on U.S. 30 east of Pioneer Drive at about 8:30 p.m. Officer Fisher stopped another vehicle when the registered owner showed suspended.

When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle cut off a box truck, causing them to hit their brakes, and they didn’t stop right away. The driver then had the passenger switch seats while the vehicle was moving. During this, the vehicle nearly hit the back end of a truck pulling cars. The vehicle then stopped at U.S. 30 and Oak Drive, and the driver was identified as Mason Markley, 19, of Grabill, Indiana.

Markley was arrested for reckless driving, and the female he switched with was also suspended. Markley was transported to Marshall County Jail and booked for reckless driving. The vehicle was towed by Lyons Towing.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
