Three people were hospitalized Sunday morning after a semi-tractor-trailer struck a stopped minivan at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Queen Road.
According to a news release from Deputy Haygood of the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, central dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 11:56 a.m. on Sunday, May 10th, reporting a crash between a semi and a minivan at the intersection.
Investigating officers determined that an eastbound 2023 Volvo tractor-trailer, operated by 55-year-old Qingrui Fan of Flushing, New York, used the turn lane to avoid stopped traffic at the intersection and struck a stopped northbound minivan on Queen Road. The minivan, a 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan, was being driven by 69-year-old Dixie Warner of Plymouth.
Warner and two additional occupants in the minivan were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. The extent of their injuries was not immediately disclosed.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by Plymouth Police, Plymouth Fire and EMS, Lyons Wrecker Service, and Tim's Towing.
