A South Bend man with an active warrant for his arrest turned himself in at the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office yesterday morning. On Wednesday, October 14th at 8:30 A.M., the Plymouth Police Department was notified of a subject who wanted to turn himself in because of an active arrest warrant through Marshall County. Officer Wallace was dispatched to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office at 112 West Jefferson Street in Plymouth. The officer took Eric Salfer, 45, of South Bend, into custody without incident and transported him to the Marshall County Jail. Salfer was lodged on the active arrest warrant, given a cash bond of $6,810, and a court date in Marshall Superior Court III.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
