This survey aims to gather valuable insights and opinions from the community regarding updates, enhancements, and new developments within the parks and recreation system. The input from this survey is to aid in creating the priority structure for the 5-Year Strategic Plan, ensuring that the community’s needs and desires are at the forefront of future planning.
The planning committee for the 5-Year Strategic Plan includes:
- Adam Rude, Director of Planning
- Betsy Means-Davis, City Councilwoman
- Gary Nolley, President of the Parks and Recreation Board
- Jenna Martin, Director of Public Relations
- Trisha Tackett, Director of Parks and Recreation

The first of two public input sessions was held Wednesday. These sessions are designed to be interactive and conceptual, providing a platform for residents to share their visions and suggestions. The second session is scheduled for this fall, with the date to be announced.
The research, development, and consultation process for the 5-Year Strategic Plan is being led by HWC Engineering.
“The involvement of our residents is crucial to the success of our parks and recreation system.
