The Rockville Town Council is expected to approve a new ordinance to put a ban on private drones flying near Beechwood Park.
Recently, multiple swimmers at the Rockville pool in Beechwood Park reported seeing drones flying overhead while enjoying the water.
Once drafted and approved, this new ordinance will ban the flying of any drones without town council approval. Anyone caught violating this ban could face fines of as much as $2500.
Residents and parkgoers can expect this ban to be drafted and approved by the next Rockville Town Council meeting on July 15.
