Officers with the Plymouth Police Department conducted several traffic stops over the weekend of January 23–24, resulting in four arrests for document and licensing violations.
The weekend activity began Friday afternoon when a Plymouth officer stopped a vehicle on the off-ramp connecting U.S. 30 to U.S. 31. During the investigation, it was determined that 48-year-old Jeanette Marie Morris of South Bend was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Morris was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for Driving While Suspended-Prior.
Later that afternoon, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Corporal Schieber initiated a traffic stop on U.S. 30 after observing a vehicle with a registration that appeared to have been expired for nearly two years. The driver was identified as 31-year-old Jordan Beem of Knox. Further investigation revealed Beem’s license was also suspended with a prior conviction. He was taken into custody and lodged at the Marshall County Jail for Driving While Suspended-Prior.Enforcement continued into Saturday, starting at approximately 12:25 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Michigan Street. Quinton N. Sheaks, 19, of Plymouth, was stopped for a traffic infraction and found to have a suspended license with a prior offense. Sheaks was lodged at the Marshall County Jail and issued a February 24 court date with a $500 cash bond.
On Saturday evening at approximately 8:20 p.m., Corporal Schieber conducted another stop near Plum and Lewis Streets after witnessing multiple moving violations. The driver, Jose M. Oyuela-Torres, 29, of Plymouth, was determined to have never been issued a driver's license. Oyuela-Torres was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail.
