A Michigan man is facing an operating while intoxicated charge after a Marshall County Sheriff's Department deputy pulled him over for speeding on US 31 Tuesday night.
Deputy Geiger stopped a dark blue GMC Acadia on US 31 at 12th Road at approximately 9:54 p.m. on May 13th after the vehicle was clocked traveling 86 miles per hour in a 60 mph zone. The driver, identified as Davontae D. Conley, 33, of Benton Harbor, Michigan, showed signs of impairment during the stop.
Conley agreed to perform field sobriety tests and subsequently consented to a certified blood test. He was transported to Plymouth Hospital, where a blood sample was collected. The results showed a blood alcohol content of .119 percent, above the legal limit of .08 percent.
Conley was then arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was charged and booked for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was given a court date and a cash bond was set at $1,500.
