The Kewanna Arts Alliance will be hosting a Community Outreach meeting on June 7, at 2 p.m., in the Union Township Community Building, 404 N Toner St, Kewanna, to get public feedback on ideas for an upcoming public art display. During the meeting, a design presentation for the project will also be presented on the project.
The project was brought into fruition by the Kewanna Arts Alliance, with support from the HeARTery, after they acquired a $5,000 grant given by the Indiana Arts Commission through their Creative Convergence program.
The Kewanna Town Council officially gave their approval of the project’s location at Logan and Main St intersection in March, allowing the group to move forward with the next step in the project. The property is currently owned by the town. Kewanna Town Council President Doran Collins said he looks forward to seeing the progress of the project, which he feels will promote growth in the community.
The group hopes the project will not only help beautify downtown Kewanna, but also bring the community together. Making a small step towards meaningful changes, all is welcome to the Community Outreach gathering and the group says every idea counts to make the project a success. During the meeting attendees will discuss their the community project and its design, hopes for downtown growth and inspiration and the next steps that will take place.
