Miller Pipeline will be working on a gas main near Amos Road and along Progress Parkway.
Due to the nature of the work and the configuration of the lanes on Progress Parkway, they will require a large lane closure to flag and divert traffic using the eastbound lane (see below).
Additionally, with Shelby Central Schools on Spring Break, utility work is being scheduled near school areas while traffic volumes are lower than usual. Duke Energy will be performing pole and equipment work along McKay Road, which will require temporary lane restrictions during daytime hours.
Residents and motorists should expect intermittent slowdowns and are encouraged to allow extra travel time or use alternate routes when possible.
Monday, March 16
At the intersection of McKay Road and Berwick Drive, Duke Energy will be replacing a utility pole on the north side of the road.
The westbound lane of McKay Road will be restricted for the majority of the day.
Tuesday, March 17
At the intersection of McKay Road and Riley Highway, Duke Energy will be installing equipment on an existing pole near the northwest corner of the intersection.The westbound lane of McKay Road will be restricted for the majority of the day.
Wednesday, March 18
At 703 W McKay Road, Duke Energy will be installing equipment on an existing pole on the south side of the road.The eastbound lane of McKay Road will be restricted for most of the day.
Drivers should use caution when traveling through the area and follow all posted signage and flagging operations.
The City of Shelbyville will continue to share additional closures as they are scheduled.
