A high-speed chase reaching speeds of 130 mph ended with a crash, an injured Plymouth police officer, and multiple charges against an Ohio man on Sunday evening.
Kepree D. Allen, 33, of Columbus, Ohio, faces several charges, including aggravated battery, resisting law enforcement, operating while intoxicated on a controlled substance, reckless driving, and possession of marijuana.
The incident began just before 7 p.m. Sunday when a Marshall County Sheriff's deputy attempted to stop a black passenger car for speeding. Instead of stopping, the vehicle fled, initiating a pursuit.
During the chase, Allen reached speeds of 130 mph and committed numerous traffic violations, including driving the wrong way on U.S. 30—one of the area's busiest highways.
Stop sticks were deployed at Lincoln Highway and Pioneer Drive in an attempt to disable the fleeing vehicle. During the deployment, a Plymouth Police officer was injured when Allen allegedly swerved toward him. While Allen did not strike the officer with his vehicle, the officer sustained injuries requiring medical attention.
Allen's vehicle continued fleeing south on State Road 17 before crashing at the intersection of SR 17 and Sycamore Road. After the crash, Allen fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later by law enforcement.
Allen was evaluated at Plymouth Hospital before being transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was given a court date later this month, and his cash bond amount is pending.
The incident involved a coordinated response from multiple agencies, including the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, Plymouth Police Department, Indiana State Police, and Plymouth EMS.

The charges against Allen are pending, and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
All charges are allegations, and Allen is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
