Under Indiana law, all children up to age eight are required to be properly secured in a child safety seat or booster seat. To help local parents and caregivers ensure they are meeting these requirements and keeping their children safe, a free inspection event is being held this weekend.
The Marshall County Health Department has partnered with Lutheran EMS to offer complimentary Car Seat Safety Inspections this Saturday, May 2nd. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Ross Dress for Less, located at 1500 Pilgrim Lane in Plymouth.
During the event, certified technicians will be on hand to check car seats and booster seats to ensure they are the appropriate size for the child, properly installed, and free of any safety recalls or defects. The experts will also share valuable information and tips with parents on how to best protect their most precious cargo while on the road.
Organizers encourage anyone who regularly uses a car seat or booster seat—including parents, grandparents, and babysitters—to attend the free event and get their seats checked.
For additional information about the Car Seat Safety Inspection event, residents can call 574-269-1975, extension 6.
